Learn How to End a Protective Order

Step 1 - Can You Make the Request?

  • The Protective Order has been in place at least 2 years.
    • Or, it has been two years since your last request. 
  • You do not have a criminal record of violating the Order. 

Step 2 - Criminal History Reports

Step 3 - Fill Out the Paperwork

Step 4 - Deliver the Paperwork to the Court

  • Deliver the paperwork to the clerk's office in the court that ruled on your case. 
    • Find the address of a county court using the court finder
  • There is not a filing fee for this motion.
  • The clerk will schedule the hearing to discuss your request. 

Step 5 - Formally Deliver the Paperwork to the Petitioner
